DESCRIPTION:Broaden your analytical skills portfolio and study at a ti
 me and in a place convenient to yourself.   The open learning courses 
 involve 10 weeks study using ACOL texts\, and completion of two writte
 n assignments.  You will have access to a tutor on-line who can help a
 nd advise.  The course finishes with a 3-day practical workshop in a u
 niversity laboratory.  There are a wide range of techniques to choose 
 from\, and courses can be built up to achieve the Edexcel Professional
  Development Certificate in Analytical Chemistry.    \n\nThe courses p
 rovide a sound knowledge of the basic principles of analysis\, an unde
 rstanding of the instrumentation involved and the opportunity to becom
 e familiar with practical techniques.   They will useful to those plan
 ning to move into new areas of analysis\, or who need a better underst
 anding of techniques used in their work\, and also to those returning 
 to work after a career break.
