About Informex For over 25 years Informex has been North America’s leading trade fair for companies dedicated to higher value chemistry. The show began in 1983 with a need to support companies that wanted new ways to produce cutting-edge chemicals, more efficiently, and with greater reliance on the expertise of fine and specialty chemical producers. Today’s pharmaceutical innovators, agrochemical product makers, electronic materials producers and other manufacturers that come to Informex find what they need for business success, mainly new ideas that make a difference, and qualified companies with production assets that can make those ideas a reality. Most will remember the first two decades of the show for its outsourcing component. Yet with the vast majority of technical challenges spotlighted in the media either beginning or ending at the molecular level, the next 25 may well be remembered as the era of Intellectual Alliances. With the easy technology breakthroughs accounted for in patent literature, companies may work more in alliances to achieve the next big thing. We already see this in major global industries like aircraft manufacturing, and with small start-up companies in search of economically viable renewable energy technologies. So to will the chemical industry and allied trades work more on a collaborative basis going forward to achieve major technical advances in areas like green chemistry, and sustainability.
