SUMMARY:Encouraging Development of Therapeutics for Neglected Diseases
DESCRIPTION:There has been a significant increase in the level of acti
 vity and attention being paid to the development of therapeutics for n
 eglected diseases over the past five years\, but there are still consi
 derable challenges in the road ahead. Diseases in the developed world 
 receive a disproportional investment because of the commercial potenti
 al from large markets and the ability to pay for such treatment. Innov
 ative approaches are being developed to stimulate interest and provide
  incentives for companies and other researchers to work on finding new
  therapeutics for diseases prevalent in developing countries. Almost a
 ll work in this field will be based on collaborations of one type or a
 nother\, during discovery\, drug evaluation or\, when successful\, del
 ivery of treatments. This forum is designed to bring together many of 
 the major stakeholders addressing these problems\, in order to examine
  and discuss strategies and best practices for solving the major chall
 enges that prevent faster and more effective solutions.
