Broaden your analytical skills portfolio and study at a time and in a place convenient to yourself. The open learning courses involve 10 weeks study using ACOL texts, and completion of two written assignments. You will have access to a tutor on-line who can help and advise. The course finishes with a 3-day practical workshop in a university laboratory. There are a wide range of techniques to choose from, and courses can be built up to achieve the Edexcel Professional Development Certificate in Analytical Chemistry. The courses provide a sound knowledge of the basic principles of analysis, an understanding of the instrumentation involved and the opportunity to become familiar with practical techniques. They will useful to those planning to move into new areas of analysis, or who need a better understanding of techniques used in their work, and also to those returning to work after a career break.
